Celebrities and their Jewels

The “star” factor of jewelry

When you hear the word “star” in regards to celebrities, an image of a person dressed to the nines and dripping in jewels on the red carpet usually comes to mind. Celebrities and their bling are a familiar sight in Hollywood. When a celebrity wants to tell the world they have “made it” in showbiz, you can be sure that they will go big with their jewelry.
Many famous women favor rings with large stone settings, delicate diamond-studded tennis bracelets, and eye-catching necklaces. Nothing says power or glam like a sparkling pair of earrings with an elegant up-do. When it comes to formal events, large show-stopper accessories are temporarily lended to a starlet for the evening.
Women don’t get to have all the fun when it comes to jewelry. Male celebs like showing off their wealth, too! Gold chains, rings, and fancy brand-name watches are favorite jewelry pieces of male celebrities. Even diamond-studded grills aren’t out of the question.

Gold has always been an indicator of wealth and status, and celebrities are still carrying on that tradition. Famous musicians of both genders have been known to sport one to several gold chains at concerts and in everyday wear. In fact, the rapper 2 Chainz derives his name from his favorite jewelry!
Sometimes a piece of jewelry can become as famous as the wearer. One jewelry item that was made famous on a global scale was Kate Middleton’s sapphire and diamond engagement ring. Another celebrity who was famous for having a vast jewelry collection that consisted of amethysts, emeralds, diamonds, and several other types of stones was Elizabeth Taylor. Some celeb jewelry has even been the source of real-life high drama, such as the theft of Kim Kardashian’s multi-carat diamond ring.
The size of a jewelry piece does not have to be large in order to make an impression. Sometimes a ring or watch is more about showing off craftsmanship than making a splash. A favorite of many celebrities, the diamond stud earring, is a perfect example of good things coming in small packages.

All types of jewelry are exchanged in celebrity romances, but an engagement ring is usually the item most celeb magazines and bloggers chat about. The size and uniqueness of the ring are endlessly discussed, much like any non-celebrity engagement or wedding ring. Maybe celebrities and regular people are not so different, after all!
One downfall of fame and fortune is getting bored easily. Often there are news articles in celebrity magazines about one star or another trading in an old watch or necklace for a new one. Sometimes these pieces of jewelry are sold to other celebs, or they are auctioned off for charity.

To make your jewelry shine like a celebrity’s, be sure to clean it regularly and store it properly. You can always trade any old, boring jewelry for something more glamorous in the future. Even if you consider yourself an everyday kind of person, you can still look like a star with beautiful accessories.
